Seaquel

Developer Experience

Built for developers who value efficiency and customization.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Seaquel is built for keyboard-first workflows. Execute queries with Cmd+Enter, save with Cmd+S, format SQL with Cmd+Shift+F, open the command palette with Cmd+K, and switch tabs with Cmd+1-9. Every action has a keyboard shortcut, and you can view the full shortcut reference from the command palette.

Custom Themes

Customize Seaquel's appearance with built-in themes like Nord, Dracula, and Solarized, or create your own. Themes control the editor colors, UI chrome, and syntax highlighting. Import themes from JSON files and export yours to share with teammates. Every theme supports both light and dark mode variants.

Smart Pagination

Navigate large result sets with pagination controls at the bottom of the results grid. Configure page sizes from 25 to 1,000 rows per page. Jump to any page directly, or use next/previous buttons. The current page and total row count are always visible in the status bar.

Resizable Panels

Drag panel borders to resize the sidebar, editor, and results panels to your preferred proportions. Collapse the sidebar entirely for a full-width editor, or expand the results panel to inspect wide tables. Panel sizes persist across sessions so your workspace is always set up the way you like it.

Command Palette

Open the command palette with Cmd+K to access every action in Seaquel. Search by name to execute commands, switch between tabs, change connections, toggle settings, and navigate to any resource. The palette shows keyboard shortcuts next to each action so you can learn them over time.

Tab Context Menu

Right-click any tab to access context actions: close the tab, close all other tabs, close tabs to the right, close tabs to the left, or close all tabs. You can also duplicate a tab to create a copy of the current query, or pin a tab to prevent it from being accidentally closed.

Unsaved Changes Warnings

Seaquel tracks unsaved changes in every tab and warns you before closing a tab with modifications. The tab title shows a dot indicator when there are unsaved changes. If you try to close the app with unsaved tabs, you get a confirmation dialog listing all modified queries so you can save or discard them.

Auto App Updates

Seaquel checks for updates automatically in the background. When a new version is available, you see a notification with the release notes. Click "Update" to download and install — the app restarts with the new version in seconds. You can also check for updates manually from the settings panel.
